Tracy Irvine presides over first meeting as 2025-26 club president

The Conroe Noon Lions Club kicked off this week’s meeting by honoring our ‘Lions of the Month’ for May and June.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Steve Davis for his dedicated efforts at the Texas Lions Camp – Work Weekend and to Geren Sims for his hard work during our annual Golf Tournament.  We also celebrated with a new member, Nicole Petitt, who has already jumped in with both feet and rolled up her sleeves on multiple occasions.  We’re thrilled to have her as part of the team!

This week was particularly special as it marked the first meeting for our new Club President, Tracy Irvine. As she takes the helm, Tracy and all of us are excited for a fantastic year ahead, filled with service, community engagement, and growth.  We're eager to see how her leadership will inspire new opportunities for the club!

Our guest speaker this Wednesday was Dr. Mila McManus, founder of The Woodlands Institute of Health and Wellness.  Dr. McManus delivered a fascinating talk on Functional Medicine, an integrative approach to health that focuses not just on alleviating symptoms, but on uncovering and addressing the root causes of health issues.  Her insights were a hit, and members left with a greater understanding of how natural, holistic medicine can support long-term wellness.

Looking ahead, we have several exciting events coming up.  First up our monthly Service Saturday at our Eyeglass Recycling Center, where we will be recycling donated glasses to help those in need around the world.  Then on Monday we will host a Vision Screening at the Community Assistance Center, to assist with vision care for those in the community.  We will wrap up a week of service with our summer Blood Drive – “Beach Days & Blood Saves”, next Wednesday, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Lone Star Convention Center.  The need for blood never takes a vacation and you can help by signing up at: https://www.commitforlife.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/404471

These events are just a few examples of how the Conroe Noon Lions Club continues to serve the local community, and we encourage anyone interested to get involved.

We invite all to join us at our weekly meetings, held every Wednesday at 12:00 PM at the Lone Star Convention Center.  Come learn more about the club, our mission, and how you can contribute to making a difference in Conroe.
