Before the rivalry between coaches can begin, we are learning to Level Up at the Conroe Noon Lions Club. Level One, Saturday August 9th, we will be providing our helping hands for the teachers/staff at Reaves Elementary School as they begin the new school year. The club has been hard at work collecting school supplies from the members to make this year a success for them.
As we look forward to Level Two, Saturday September 13th Conroe Noon Lions Club will host our annual ‘kids on the lake’ - fishing event for special needs children at Owen Park in Conroe. Children ages 5 to 18 who are physically, mentally, or visually challenged are invited to join in the fishing festivities! Wait there is more...the event also has games, a dunking booth, and lunch so make sure to register with our club. Lastly the club is kicking off our annual Community Partnership fundraiser, which is our largest fundraiser during the year.
Community Partners are vital to our club as without their support we would not be able to do the number of service projects within the community. As a Community Partner you can also obtain attendance to many of our events and our inspirational annual appreciation luncheon. Lion Sharene is challenging you to Level Up by making the decision to reach out and become a Community Partner today!
Fun Fact: The “Pigskin Preview” was named in honor of Buddy Moorehead- a dedicated Lion and Head Football Coach at Conroe High School after his passing in 1983. First the club would like to thank all the attendees from Conroe ISD, Willis ISD, and Montgomery ISD as the event would not be possible without your support. Can you believe our area has now grown to 9 high schools all with football programs?
They have even Leveled Up this past year by offering Spring Football! Coaches from Grand Oaks, Oak Ridge, Lake Creek, Montgomery, The Woodlands, College Park, Caney Creek, Willis, and Conroe High School brought us inspiring stories and how they will level up their programs this year. Coaches had to keep their comments short and sweet or face Lion Warner playing the “Monday Night Football Theme Song.” The coaches are teaching their players to “Unleash the Growl”, “# Time and Take Over”, “Keep Climbing”, “For the Family” and “Prove us Right”.
The players are hard at work learning habits on the field as well as inside the classroom. All coaches were able to agree upon providing a quality football program with good sportsmanship, leadership, and creating success. Thank you coaches for helping our student athletes Level Up!
