Conroe Noon Lions: Club members usher in fall with a full service calendar

For the Conroe Noon Lions Club, fall also means something else — a season of service!Judging by this week’s meeting, our Lions are ready for it! We were proud to recognize Adrienne Byrd as our August - Lion of the Month. Since joining the club, she has jumped right in, lending a hand wherever needed and showing what it truly means to be a Lion. 
 

Thank you for all you do! We are so glad to have you as part of our Lions family.
We also held our annual Committee Trade Show, giving members a chance to learn more about the many committees that keep our club busy serving throughout the year. From helping children and supporting our schools to vision screenings, special events, fundraisers and community outreach, there is no shortage of ways to get involved.
The Trade Show is always a great reminder that there really is something for everyone. Some Lions like being, front and center, some prefer working behind the scenes, and others are happiest wherever an extra set of hands is needed. No matter where you serve, every job plays a part in those two little words that mean so much to Lions everywhere: We Serve.
And serve we will, because our fall calendar is packed!
This past Saturday, our Lions headed to Owen Park for the ‘kids on the lake’ - fishing tournament. A big thank you to all our Lions and Leos who worked so hard to make this event special. There is no doubt the families who joined us made memories they will cherish for years to come. This is what service is all about!
September will wrap up with the application deadline for our Hometown Military Hero program on September 30. We are accepting applications to recognize local active-duty military heroes. If you know someone deserving of this special recognition, contact the club office or your favorite Lion to learn more.
October certainly won’t slow us down! Throughout the month, our Lions will be conducting preschool vision screenings. Early detection of a possible vision problem can make a tremendous difference in a child’s life, and this is one of those projects where just a little bit of a Lion’s time can have a lasting impact.
October 3 brings our Annual Clay Shoot at Blackwood Gun Club, and we are currently looking for teams to join in on the fun. Grab a few friends, put together a team and come spend the day with us. Contact the club office for more information.
Looking at everything ahead, it’s easy to see why our Committee Trade Show is such an important meeting each year. The Conroe Noon Lions Club doesn’t make an impact because of one person, one committee or one event. It happens because Lions find a place to lend their time and talents and jump in to help.
So, bring on the cooler weather, pumpkins, football and everything we love about fall in Conroe. Our calendars may be full, but so are our hearts—and the Conroe Noon Lions are ready for another great season of doing what Lions do best: serving our community!
