Montgomery County Fair – Concessions - This is another favorite time for me. Our club is proud to stand behind the concession counter in the show arena, serving more than just drinks—we’re helping fuel moments that matter. There’s something special about handing a cold / hot drink or food to a nervous contestant, a proud parent, or a cheering supporter. We love being a small part of their big day, keeping everyone hydrated, refreshed, and ready to soak in every second of hard work, hope, and heart that fills the arena. Good luck to all the contestants this year. We know how hard you worked and wish you all the best.
Vision Screening – We will be set up at this year’s Healthy Kids Festival – Saturday, March 28 – 8am – 1pm at Sam Houston Elementary School. Here we will be doing vision screenings for children. Lions were founded on vision, and we want to help see the beauty around us.
Ready to Get Involved - We’re always glad to welcome new faces into the Conroe Noon Lions Club, especially those who simply want to be part of something meaningful in the community. We’re in the middle of our spring Membership Drive and though its theme is ‘Battle of the Sexes’ – ALL Guys and Gals are welcome here! Whether it’s lending a hand at events like the fair or quietly supporting neighbors in need, being a Lion is really about showing up and making a difference together. There’s no pressure, just a shared sense of purpose and a place for anyone who wants to give back alongside a good group of people.
This week’s meeting had me on my toes. LITERALLY - While you never know what you will learn or who you will connect with, you can always ensure that it’s going to be fun. Maybe you will be up against Warner Phelps carrying a case of water in a race. He may have won against Morgan Freeman and I, but we gave it our best try. We also heard from Dr. Kinney with HARC Research, learning about how the rapid growth of digital infrastructure is affecting Texas’ resources. Before our luncheon this week, I never would have considered the interesting facts about water and energy demands for large data centers. But at Conroe Noon you get it all, a warm welcome, a good feeling, interesting programs, and always a touch of FUN!
