One of the most memorable events of the year was Kids on the Lake. Watching the joy on children’s faces as they experienced the thrill of fishing reminded me that service can be both meaningful and fun. We also continued our longstanding support for shut-ins, disabled children, and disaster victims — proving again and again that our club’s reach is wide and our hearts are full.
Another highlight of my presidency was the opportunity to represent our club at the Lions Club International Convention in Melbourne, Australia. Surrounded by more than 11,000 Lions from across the globe, I felt immense pride in Conroe Noon’s place within the worldwide Lions family. The energy, the ideas, and the inspiration I brought home from that experience reinforced my belief that our local service connects to something much greater.
Throughout the year, I’ve reflected often on how I got here. I joined the club just seven years ago. At the time, I barely knew anyone—but I quickly found friendship, purpose, and community. I’m forever grateful to my sponsor, Lion Polo Lacoste, for inviting me in and believing I’d be a good fit. He was right. This club has become a second family, and the friendships I’ve formed will last a lifetime.
Of course, none of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of my wife, Wendy. She stood beside me through it all—meetings, fundraisers, early mornings, and late nights. I’m also grateful for the guidance of our past presidents and the encouragement of every Lion who volunteered, led a project, or simply showed up ready to serve.
As I pass the torch to President Tracy, I do so with confidence. Our club is strong. Our mission is clear. And our commitment to serving others remains as gritty as ever. I know she will take it to the next level.
I will remain actively engaged in our club and I look forward to continuing to serve as a Lion. Thank you to my club for trusting me to serve, for their friendship, and their True Grit!
