🏀 Tip-Off - things are getting competitive!

Hey Lions,

Well, I think it's safe to say The Amazing Race has brought out a little competitive spirit in our Lions! 🏁

We've got colored cars moving around the track, Team Captains collecting points, and Lions trying to figure out just how far ahead—or behind—their team really is.

And apparently, we're taking this competition to a whole new level because on Wednesday, everyone is to wear their TEAM COLORS!

So before you head out the door, make sure you're wearing the right color. Otherwise, Tail Twister Bryan and his trusty collection pan will be waiting for you. 😂

More on that below, along with plenty of other happenings around CNLC!

🏁 The Amazing Race – move that Car!

The race is heating up, Lions!

The Explorers (Green Team) are still holding onto the lead, but there's plenty of time for the Navigators (Blue) and Trailblazers (Red) to make their move!

Here's how to keep your car moving:

  • Bring guests to our meetings.

  • Turn in those membership applications! Let's turn those apps "in hand" into apps "turned in!"

  • Review your Route Card and make sure you're earning all the points you can.

  • Report your points to your Team Captain!

🚨 IMPORTANT – WEAR YOUR TEAM COLORS WEDNESDAY!

🔵 Navigators – BLUE: Badge box #2-correction BOX #1
🟢 Explorers – GREEN: Badge box #1-correction BOX #2
🔴 Trailblazers – RED: Badge box #3 and new members!

And if you show up without your team colors?  Tail Twister Bryan will be waiting with his trusty old bedpan to collect your fine! 😂

Don't say I didn't warn you!

🎃 Trick or Treat...and scan some eyes!

Looking for something fun to do on Halloween? How about a little Trunk or Treat with a side of vision screening! 👻👀

We'll be screening children's eyes, handing out treats, and enjoying some Halloween fun with the community. Costumes are welcome, smiles are required, and volunteers are definitely needed!

🎖️ Invite a Vet to Lunch!

Veterans Day – Wednesday, November 11

This year, our regular Wednesday meeting falls right on Veterans Day, and we're making it a special one!

Our guest speaker is a veteran who leads the Veterans Affairs Department at Lone Star College, so we thought this would be the perfect opportunity to invite some heroes to join us.

Know a veteran or active-duty service member? Invite them to lunch!

There are just TWO IMPORTANT DETAILS:

1. One complimentary veteran meal per Lion.
CNLC will cover the lunch cost for one veteran or active-duty military guest per member. If you'd like to bring additional guests, their meals will be at your expense.

2. RSVP by FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 6!
We MUST have your RSVP by this date so we can make the proper food and seating arrangements.

Let's fill the room with some very special guests and show our appreciation for their service.

🎄 Service Saturday – Christmas Is Coming to New Danville!

Saturday, November 14 | 8:30 AM–Noon
📍 New Danville 10951 Shepard Hill Rd, Willis, TX

I know, I know...we haven't even made it through Halloween yet, and here I am talking about Christmas! 😂

But our November Service Saturday is all about getting New Danville ready for the Christmas season! We'll be helping decorate the grounds, and the new director has promised there will be even more for us to do this year.

So come help us spread a little Christmas cheer and get this wonderful facility looking festive for the holidays.

🎤 THIS WEEK'S PROGRAM

On Wednesday we'll welcome Sherry Marasse with SoLuna Mental Wellness.

We're looking forward to hearing more about SoLuna Mental Wellness and the work they're doing to support mental wellness in our community.

🏀 Coach's Corner

It's officially that time of year again...hunting season AND basketball season! 🦌🏀

I've been loving seeing everyone's deer pictures popping up lately! I spent part of our weekend out at the property building a ladder stand, so I guess you could say we're getting ready too.

But as much as I enjoy hunting season, you know where my heart really is...BASKETBALL! 🏀

High school basketball season kicks off this week, and I am SO ready to be back in the stands watching Austin play! It's been too long, and I can't wait to get back to cheering him and his teammates on.

Between hunting season and basketball season, I think it's safe to say my weekends are officially booked for a while. 😂

See you Wednesday, Lions!
