*The 🎅 ‘Jingle Bell Bash’ at Reaves Elementary School is Friday, Dec. 15th 9am-12pm and we are going to need some volunteers; preferably those willing to show-up in their kid friendly elf costume and help Santa hand out treats to the kids. I know some of you need me to define “kid friendly” so that means you CANNOT wear the sparkly, sequined Halloween Elf costume you purchased from Trickz N’ Treatz last month – C. Pat Davis. Seriously though, you don’t have to have an elf costume to be a Santa’s helper; just signup and enjoy the smiles on the kids’ faces. Reaves Sign-Up
*We will be collecting toiletries (soap, lotion, shampoo, etc. – no trial sizes) for our 🎁 ‘Christmas Baskets for the Elderly’ over the next few weeks. We will fill 30-35 baskets for some very sweet elderly folks who aren’t always able to take care of their hygiene needs due to the cost. We can easily help these folks by dropping a few items in the collection box at our club meetings through Dec. 15th . We’ll then head to the club office on Tuesday, Dec.19th where we’ll sort and pack the boxes from 10am – 11am. We’re gonna need those Santa helpers again. After packing, we are scheduled to deliver the baskets after the Christmas Social on Wednesday, Dec. 20th. Our delivery Lions are asked to go in pairs to deliver the boxes to various recipients; so grab a friend and sign-up to help someone in need. Christmas Basket Sign-up
*Let’s talk about our 🥂 Christmas Social on Wednesday, Dec. 20th. Exactly what time does one need to arrive in order to partake in the eggnog? My usual arrival time is 11:35 and all that’s left in the punch bowl is ‘nog’ residue. Not only that, but the Hor d’Oeuvres tray looks like it was hit by a pack of wolves. I’m guessing these folk downed all the eggnog and needed to sober up before Chief Christy and his crew arrive on the scene. If someone would give me the culprits names, I’ll have a little Come to Jesus talk with them on “we serve” does not mean we serve ourselves over and over again.
And finally, the program this week is the 🏀 Annual Round-ball Round-up. We’ll hear from our area high school basketball coaches on their awesome teams and how hard they are working. These coaches take a lot of smack-talk from everywhere; it’s really good that CNLC goes out of the way to support them.
Have a great rest of your week and remember, if it isn’t homemade and covered in chocolate, it isn’t worth the calories. Be choosey my friends. 🤣
